About Pelago Bioscience
Pelago Bioscience, founded 2013, is a Swedish Contract Research Organisation (CRO) which currently has approximately 50 employees. Since December 2021, we are in the Campus Solna area in a beautifully designed activity-based office area and a lab floor with a view. We are scaling up our business as a sustainable company where curiosity and customer-driven innovation are at our core. We work together with our worldwide customer base, with the aim of being the partner of choice in the discovery of novel therapeutics. The new Business Intelligence Manager role will be a key player in further defining our customer offering.
Your new role
The Business Intelligence Manager will drive market intelligence initiatives, support the performance of existing and launching products and be instrumental in shaping the future of Pelago Bioscience’s global product/services portfolio.
As Business Intelligence Manager, you’ll play a key role in transforming data into actionable insights that guide commercial strategy, customer engagement, and operational efficiency. You’ll join a warm, collaborative and science-driven environment where curiosity and innovation are central to the culture.
The position is based at the headquarters in Solna. Some travel is required, but is planned and limited to a few times per year. You’ll report to the Head of Marketing and Products, a collaborative leader who describes themselves as a great sounding board. They create space for ideas as well as action, encourage cross-functional thinking, and value open, curious dialogue.

Responsibilities:
- Drive efforts to identify customer needs, trends and competitive dynamics in the drug discovery space, primarily for small molecule drugs. Provide actionable insights to guide decision-making, market positioning and drive growth.
- Contribute to strategic planning by collaborating with the management team to develop a 3 to 5-year business plan during the annual strategy process.
- Be a key player in portfolio development by representing the customer perspective in the planning of future products and services.
- Suggest product improvements by working closely with the Product Manager on user requirements for both new and existing product/service offerings.
- Enable cross-functional alignment by providing leadership and expertise, i.e. “deep customer understanding”, to functions in the organization, including Product Management, Marketing Operations, Sales, R&D, and Lab Operations.
- Work with Product Management and the Global Head of Commercial on strategies and launch planning for new products and markets.
- Contribute to marketing content by providing input for new product releases and promotional materials for the current product and service portfolio.
- Drive scientific collaborations with pharma and biotech partners to co-create case studies, posters, and other materials for marketing campaigns.
What you'll need to succeed
To succeed in the role of Business Intelligence Manager, you need:
- Solid understanding of the drug discovery landscape, including market trends, competing technologies, and key players.
- Practical experience from drug discovery and development
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to connect detailed analysis to broader strategic goals.
- Clear and confident communicator, able to present findings and insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
- Expertise in market research and competitive intelligence, with a track record of turning insights into action.
It is important to have:
- Experience with industry practices for promoting and selling similar products or services in the life sciences sector.
- Ability to comfortably collaborate cross-functionally in a matrix organization.
- Bachelor’s degree in life sciences (e.g. biotechnology, biochemistry, pharmacy); an advanced degree or MBA is a plus.
- 7+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
